Statement From Larry

Dear Friend:

I would like to welcome you to my campaign website. As your Will County Executive, I am your countywide elected official who is responsible for the day to day operations of County government. In this role, I am working full time to address the many challenges our rapidly growing county faces.

In 2004, I ran for Will County Executive to bring responsible, accountable and visible government to our communities. Since being elected in 2004, we have worked cooperatively to bring the County’s financial house in order, create better partnerships with our governmental partners, and planned more pro-actively for the future of our region. I respectfully ask for your vote as I seek re-election in 2008 so that I can continue my work in the years ahead.

Please check back regularly to this website as I will continue to update you with ongoing issues, news stories, and other important information related to my campaign efforts.

Thanks for your support,

Lawrence "Larry" M. Walsh

Will County Executive

Walsh in the News - Executive Larry Walsh: Topographic Data available soon for Plainfield Township

Will County is taking another big step in advancing its services to residents with the development of topographic contour data for its 24 townships. This data will allow residents and business to view the earth’s surface of local townships through mapping software and the use of contour lines drawn on the map to quantify elevation.   “This allows Will County valuable information to assist in the overall planning and decision-making for land development and geological survey” said Will County Executive, Larry Walsh.     It allows Will County a competitive edge when planning and making critical decisions.”

Walsh in the News - Executive Larry Walsh: Disability Forum in Will County July 23rd

It was 18 years ago this month that Congress passed the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).   This legislation was created to prohibit discrimination against persons with disabilities – and guarantees them equal access to employment, public services, public accommodations and telecommunications.   While we have improved greatly as a Nation in addressing disability issues since that time, it is important to note that the number of disabled Americans continues to grow – as does their need for a better quality of life.
